Socrates is guilty of not believing in the gods the city believes in

Socrates is guilty of introducing new divinities (daimonia)

Socrates is guilty of corrupting the youth

Chaerephon asked the Oracle at Delphi if anyone was wiser than Socrates

The Oracle declared that no one was wiser than Socrates

Socrates was puzzled by the oracle because he knew he possessed no wisdom

Socrates undertook to test the oracle by questioning those reputed wise

Politicians, when examined, proved to know nothing but thought they knew much

Poets could not explain their own works; they composed by inspiration, not wisdom

Craftsmen knew their craft but falsely believed this made them wise in all things
